Castle is the family home of the Earls of Strathmore
and Kinghorne and has been a royal residence since 1372.
It is the childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth
The Queen Mother, the birthplace of Her Royal Highness
The Princess Margaret and the legendary setting of Shakespeare's
play "Macbeth". Glamis Castle is open to the public
usually from 10.30 a.m.-5.30 p.m. (last admission 4.45
p.m.) from Saturday, 1st April, to Monday, 30th October,
1995 (all days inclusive). It is located 5 miles miles
from Forfar and just near the village of Glamis in Angus.
